Beacon Instructions

Welcome to your Beacon Instructions page! There are only 2 sets of instructions that you need for using your Beacon:

Setup

So, the postie has been and your Beacon has arrived, woohoo! Now what do you do?

1	Meet your Beacon	Ta Da! Open the envelope and pull out the QR code stickers. You'll see you have more than one so you can choose which size you want to use, or why not use them all! They are all linked to the same Beacon. Scan the QR code on the sticker that says 'Setup QR Code'.
2	Setup your Beacon	You will be taken to a special page on our website where you now set up your Beacon. Simply fill in the simple form and when you're happy, press 'Create Beacon'. Here are some helpful tips: Manager - Typically you, the person who manages the Beacon - Managers are automatically added as a Family & Friends of a Beacon. Family & Friends - The people who you would like to be notified when the Beacon is triggered.
4	Beacon ready for action!	Once your Beacon is ready to use, go ahead and stick the QR code stickers on the property you would like to use it on. Make sure it's straight!
5	Light your Beacon	This is the fun part! Why not scan your Beacon QR code and see it in action? This is called Lighting a Beacon!

Like the wooden Beacons of old, this Beacon also needs to be lit for the signal to be sent. To test and light your Beacon, you simple need to:

Remember you're acting on behalf of a Passer-by when you light a Beacon.

1	Scan your QR Code	Grab your phone and scan that code with your phone's camera.
2	Passer-by details	Enter a name, message and either an e-mail address or mobile phone number.
3	Single Use Code	The Passer-by will then be presented with a form to enter a single use code, which will be sent to them via email or text message.
4	Passer-by Verified	Once the single use code has been entered and verified then the Beacon has been lit - the message will be sent far and wide, to the manager and all Family & Friends.
5	Beacon Lit	At this point, all the Family & Friends & the Manager of the Beacon will be notified that the Beacon has been lit. They will all receive the message, name and contact method for the Passer-by so they can reach out to them for more information.
